Short answer

eBay's India seller guides describe eBay managed payments paying your sales proceeds into a linked Payoneer account in US dollars. You then withdraw the balance from Payoneer to your Indian bank account. The marketplace does not publish full fees for its withdrawal methods, so no payout is calculated.

Who this is for: This page is for Indian sellers who list physical goods on eBay sites such as ebay.com, ship them to buyers abroad, and want their eBay sales proceeds to reach an Indian bank account.

What withdrawal methods does eBay support for India?

How does each eBay withdrawal method work?

How does eBay managed payments payout to Payoneer, then to an Indian bank account work for eBay payouts?

During seller registration you sign in to, or create, a Payoneer account and link it to eBay, then pass Payoneer's document checks, per eBay's Payoneer registration guide. eBay pays your sales proceeds to Payoneer, and you withdraw them to your Indian bank account.

  • Pros: One payout route covers every buyer payment method, including cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay; Payouts run automatically on the schedule you choose in eBay; Fees are deducted before payout, so there is no separate monthly eBay bill when sales cover them; The same Payoneer account can be set as the payment method for eBay selling costs
  • Cons: Funds pass through two accounts before reaching your Indian bank; Payoneer sets its own withdrawal and conversion fees, which eBay does not publish; You need a new Payoneer account for every eBay account; The payout currency cannot be changed after you submit registration
  • Cost: eBay deducts its selling fees and other selling costs from your funds before each payout, per eBay managed payments for sellers in India. eBay's India pages do not list a separate fee for the payout to Payoneer. Payoneer sets its own fees for withdrawing to an Indian bank, and eBay does not publish them.
  • Time: eBay initiates payouts within 2 business days of confirming the buyer's payment, on a daily, weekly, fortnightly or monthly schedule you choose, per eBay managed payments for sellers in India. eBay says funds reach your Payoneer account within minutes of a payout being initiated. The time from Payoneer to your bank depends on Payoneer and your bank.
  • FIRA: eBay's India seller pages do not mention a FIRA or FIRC. Ask Payoneer and your Indian bank which inward remittance record they issue for each withdrawal.
  • Ideal for: Indian sellers of physical goods who sell across eBay sites and want all proceeds collected in one US dollar balance before moving them to India.

How do you set up eBay withdrawals to India?

  1. Create an eBay account from the Selling menu in My eBay, choosing a Personal account as an individual or a Business account as a company or sole proprietor, per eBay's India registration guide.
  2. Start your first listing and select Get started on the seller registration page, then verify your phone number with the one-time security code.
  3. Select your payout currency carefully, because eBay says you cannot change it after you submit your registration, per eBay's Payoneer registration guide.
  4. Sign in to an existing Payoneer account or create a new one, making sure the account type and country match your eBay account. Use a separate Payoneer account for each eBay account.
  5. Complete Payoneer's document check with a PAN card or passport in the authorised representative's name, a selfie holding the ID, and a recent bank statement or utility bill as address proof, per eBay's Payoneer KYC checklist.
  6. Add a credit or debit card to eBay to cover selling costs when your sales proceeds are not enough, then submit your registration.
  7. Add your Indian bank account as a withdrawal destination in your Payoneer account, following Payoneer's own checks, so you can withdraw your eBay proceeds to India.
  8. Keep your PAN, and your GSTIN and LUT if you are registered for GST, ready for your own tax filings. eBay's India pages point sellers to the GST portal for GSTIN registration.

How much INR do you receive on $2,000, $5,000 and $10,000 from eBay?

eBay does not publish full fees for its withdrawal methods, so INR amounts are not calculated. The methods table above lists every fee it does publish.

What fees does eBay charge before you withdraw?

eBay charges most categories on ebay.com a final value fee of 13.6 percent of the total sale up to $7,500, plus $0.40 per order over $10, per eBay selling fees. Sellers registered in India also pay a 1.70 percent International fee, per eBay international fees. For example, a $100 order costs $15.70 in these fees.

What tax forms and TDS apply to eBay earnings?

eBay's India seller pages do not describe any Indian TDS or GST TCS deducted from eBay payouts. Identity checks for Indian sellers run through Payoneer, which asks for a PAN card or passport, per eBay's Payoneer KYC checklist. eBay income is still taxable in India. Exports of goods are zero-rated supplies under GST.

  • W-8BEN: eBay's India seller guides reviewed for this page do not ask Indian sellers for a W-8BEN. If eBay or Payoneer asks for one, the IRS says a foreign person who is the beneficial owner of an amount subject to withholding gives Form W-8BEN to the payer when requested. See W-8BEN for Indian freelancers.
  • TDS: eBay's India pages do not describe TDS deducted by eBay. Check your annual tax statement on the income tax portal for any TDS credit. Under the Income-tax Act, 2025 FAQs, TDS provisions of the old Act correspond to section 393 of the new Act. See TDS on marketplace payouts.
  • GST on fees: eBay says local GST or similar consumption tax might apply in addition to its fees, depending on your country of residence, per eBay selling fees. Tax on services in categories notified under IGST Act section 5(3) is paid by the recipient on reverse charge. Confirm with your GST adviser how this applies to your registration.
  • GST on exports: Exports of goods are zero-rated supplies under IGST Act section 16. A registered seller can export without paying IGST by filing a Letter of Undertaking in Form GST RFD-11 under CGST Rule 96A. See LUT filing.
  • Income tax: eBay sales income is taxed in India. The Income-tax Act, 2025 replaced the 1961 Act from 1 April 2026, and the presumptive schemes under old sections 44AD and 44ADA now sit in section 58. Those old sections apply to income of financial years up to 2025-26. See 44AD vs 44ADA.

Do eBay payouts give you FIRA, and what purpose code applies?

  • FIRA: eBay's India pages do not describe a FIRA or FIRC, since eBay pays Payoneer and you then withdraw to your bank. Ask Payoneer and your bank for the inward remittance record. FIRA is a term used by banks and platforms and is not defined in the FEMA Export and Import Regulations, 2026. See FIRC vs FIRA vs e-BRC.
  • Purpose code: eBay sales of physical goods fall in RBI's export of goods group. The RBI purpose code list describes P0103 as "Advance receipts against export contracts (export of goods only)" and P0104 as "Receipts against export of goods not covered by the GR/PP/SOFTEX/EC copy of shipping bill etc." Ask your AD bank which code it applies. See purpose code for export of goods.
  • EDF for goods: Under Regulation 3 of the FEMA Export and Import Regulations, 2026, a goods exporter declares the full export value in an EDF at the time of export, and the EDF is deemed part of the shipping bill at EDI ports. See EDF form for exports.
  • Realisation: Export value must be realised within nine months, or twelve months if invoiced or settled in rupees, under Regulation 5 as amended on 22 September 2026. The 2026 regulations replaced the earlier Master Directions on export and import from 1 October 2026 per A.P. (DIR Series) Circular No. 20. For shipping bills up to ₹10 lakh, the regulations let the AD bank close the EDPMS entry on your declaration that payment was realised. See EDPMS closure.

Why do eBay withdrawals to India fail or get held?

  • Payout on hold: eBay may hold funds for new or infrequent sellers until delivery is confirmed, in limited cases for up to 21 days, per eBay payment holds. High priced items can be held for up to 30 days. Ship the same day and add tracking to release funds sooner.
  • Name mismatch: Your business name on eBay should match the name on your Payoneer account, per eBay managed payments for sellers in India. The account type and country must also match, or the Payoneer account will not link, per eBay's Payoneer registration guide. Use a Payoneer business account with an eBay business account.
  • KYC delay: Payoneer verification can stall over blurred, cropped or expired documents, per eBay's Payoneer KYC checklist. Upload colour copies under 3MB, a full-month bank statement in PDF without a password, and address proof matching your Payoneer address. Check the Verification Center in Payoneer for pending items.
  • No fee method: eBay may put payouts on hold if it cannot deduct selling fees and other costs from any on-file payment method, per eBay payment holds. Add a valid card, or set your linked Payoneer account as the preferred method for selling costs, per eBay payment method help.
  • Registration hold: eBay may hold payouts if it finds a discrepancy in the information you gave at registration, and it will email you asking for more details, per eBay payment holds. Reply with the documents requested and keep your eBay and Payoneer profiles identical.
