Short answer

Walmart Marketplace does not pay Indian sellers by direct bank deposit. Sellers incorporated in India choose one approved payout provider, Payoneer or PingPong, and that provider sends the money to an Indian bank account in rupees. The marketplace does not publish full fees for its withdrawal methods, so no payout is calculated.

Who this is for: This page is for India-based sellers, including GST-registered sole proprietors and companies, who sell physical goods to US shoppers on Walmart Marketplace and want their payouts to reach an Indian bank account.

What withdrawal methods does Walmart Marketplace support for India?

How does each Walmart Marketplace withdrawal method work?

How does Payoneer account linked to an Indian bank account work for Walmart Marketplace payouts?

In Seller Center, an admin user opens the Payment Info page, selects Set up next to Payoneer and enters a text message verification code, per Walmart's payout setup guide. Walmart deposits net sales into the Payoneer account, and you withdraw to your linked Indian bank, per its payout processing guide.

  • Pros: Walmart lists India as an eligible country for Payoneer; Opening the account through the Seller Center link avoids the $1.50 withdrawal fee Walmart describes; One provider account holds all Walmart payouts in one place
  • Cons: Walmart does not publish Payoneer's conversion rate or fees for India; You can link only one payout provider to Walmart at a time; Changing provider later needs a Walmart Support case
  • Cost: Walmart does not publish Payoneer's withdrawal or conversion fees. Walmart says a $1.50 withdrawal fee may apply if you opened the Payoneer account directly instead of through the link in Seller Center, per its payout setup guide.
  • Time: Walmart pays out generally every 14 days, per its payout processing guide, and settlement cycles run on alternate Fridays at midnight Pacific time, per its payment activities guide. Payoneer's time to reach your Indian bank is not stated by Walmart.
  • FIRA: Walmart's guides do not mention a FIRA or FIRC. Ask Payoneer and your Indian bank which inward remittance record they issue for each withdrawal.
  • Ideal for: Sellers who want to collect Walmart payouts in a provider account and choose when to withdraw to India.

How does PingPong account linked to an Indian bank account work for Walmart Marketplace payouts?

An admin user selects Set up next to PingPong on the Seller Center Payment Info page and verifies with a text message code, per Walmart's payout setup guide. Walmart lists India among PingPong's countries in its payout processing guide, and PingPong sends withdrawals to your Indian bank.

  • Pros: Walmart lists India as an eligible country for PingPong; Walmart describes a multi-currency wallet and single sign-on for PingPong; Can keep Walmart funds with the same provider used for other marketplaces
  • Cons: Walmart does not publish PingPong's conversion rate or fees for India; Only one payout provider can be linked at a time; Walmart is not responsible for losses from wrong account details
  • Cost: Walmart does not publish PingPong's fees. Its payout processing guide says you manage funds and transfer them to your bank according to your provider's features and pricing.
  • Time: Walmart pays out generally every 14 days, per its payout processing guide, on alternate Friday settlement cycles described in its payment activities guide. The time for PingPong to reach your Indian bank is not stated by Walmart.
  • FIRA: Walmart's guides do not mention a FIRA or FIRC. Ask PingPong and your Indian bank which inward remittance record they issue for each withdrawal.
  • Ideal for: Sellers who already run cross-border collections through PingPong and want Walmart payouts in the same place.

How do you set up Walmart Marketplace withdrawals to India?

  1. Confirm your business type is allowed. Walmart's U.S. Marketplace does not accept non-profits or HUFs, and accepts sole proprietors only from India.
  2. Gather your documents: a GSTIN registration certificate, proof of address, and a personal ID. Walmart's list for sole proprietors also includes an MSME certificate and a Shop and Establishment License, and companies add a certificate of incorporation or Articles of Association.
  3. Arrange a U.S. return address, either your own or through Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS), since Walmart requires one for returns.
  4. Apply in Seller Center and complete business verification. If you have no U.S. tax ID, select no when asked and upload Indian business documents.
  5. Complete the tax information step. Indian companies without an EIN use Form W-8BEN-E, and Indian sole proprietors use Form W-8BEN.
  6. Within 30 days of business verification, open the Payment Info page as an admin user and select Set up next to Payoneer or PingPong.
  7. Enter the text message verification code sent to your primary business contact, and make sure the legal name and tax ID match your provider and bank details.
  8. Link an Indian bank account in the same legal name inside Payoneer or PingPong, then withdraw each payout in INR.

How much INR do you receive on $2,000, $5,000 and $10,000 from Walmart Marketplace?

Walmart Marketplace does not publish full fees for its withdrawal methods, so INR amounts are not calculated. The methods table above lists every fee it does publish.

What fees does Walmart Marketplace charge before you withdraw?

Walmart Marketplace charges no setup or monthly fee and takes a referral fee on each sale, per its pricing page. Many categories pay 15 percent, and rates range from 3 to 20 percent by category and price. The fee applies to the total sales price, including shipping. For example, a $100 home decor sale carries a $15 referral fee.

What tax forms and TDS apply to Walmart Marketplace earnings?

Walmart Marketplace asks Indian sellers for a US tax classification during onboarding, per its tax classification guide. Indian companies without an EIN file Form W-8BEN-E, and Indian sole proprietors file Form W-8BEN. Walmart also asks for a GSTIN certificate. Walmart's guides do not describe any Indian TDS on payouts.

  • W-8BEN-E: Walmart supports W-8BEN-E for sellers incorporated in India without an EIN, and says W-8BEN-E and W-8ECI documents must be renewed every three years, per its tax classification guide. The IRS says foreign entities use Form W-8BEN-E to document their status for US tax purposes. See W-8BEN-E for Indian companies.
  • W-8BEN: Walmart supports Form W-8BEN only for sole proprietors from Mexico or India, per its tax classification guide. The IRS says a foreign individual gives Form W-8BEN when the payer asks. Walmart also says an Indian company with a US EIN is classified as W-8ECI. See W-8BEN for Indian freelancers.
  • TDS: Walmart's payout and tax guides do not describe Indian TDS on Walmart payouts. Check your annual tax statement for any credit. The Income-tax Act, 2025 FAQs show TDS provisions moving to section 393 of the new Act from 1 April 2026. See TDS on marketplace payouts.
  • GST on exports: Goods exported from India are zero-rated supplies under IGST Act section 16. A registered seller can export without paying IGST under a Letter of Undertaking in Form GST RFD-11 filed under CGST Rule 96A. See LUT filing.
  • GST on fees: Walmart's referral and WFS fees are charged by a business outside India. Where an imported service is taxable in India, tax on categories notified under IGST Act section 5(3) is paid by the recipient on reverse charge. Place of supply rules decide this, and services performed on goods in the US may fall outside Indian GST, so confirm with your GST adviser.
  • Income tax: Walmart sales income is taxed in India. The Income-tax Act, 2025 replaced the 1961 Act from 1 April 2026, and the presumptive schemes under old sections 44AD and 44ADA now sit in section 58. The old sections apply to income up to financial year 2025-26. See 44AD vs 44ADA.

Do Walmart Marketplace payouts give you FIRA, and what purpose code applies?

  • FIRA: Walmart pays your Payoneer or PingPong account, and the provider pays your Indian bank, so ask the provider and your bank for the inward remittance record. FIRA is a term used by banks and platforms and is not defined in the FEMA Export and Import Regulations, 2026. See FIRC vs FIRA vs e-BRC.
  • Purpose code: Walmart sales are exports of goods. The RBI purpose code list describes P0104 as "Receipts against export of goods not covered by the GR/PP/SOFTEX/EC copy of shipping bill etc." Banks may apply a different export of goods code to payouts that arrive through Payoneer or PingPong, so ask your AD bank which code it uses. See purpose code for export of goods.
  • EDF: Under Regulation 3 of the FEMA Export and Import Regulations, 2026, a goods exporter declares the full export value in an EDF at the time of export, and the EDF is deemed part of the shipping bill at EDI ports. These regulations replaced the earlier Master Direction from 1 October 2026 per A.P. (DIR Series) Circular No. 20. See EDF form for exports.
  • Realisation: Regulation 5, as amended on 22 September 2026, sets nine months from shipment for goods, or nine months from the date of sale for goods exported to a warehouse outside India. Ask your AD bank whether it treats stock held in a WFS centre as warehouse exports. For shipping bills up to ₹10 lakh, the regulations let the AD bank close the EDPMS entry on your declaration. See EDPMS closure.

Why do Walmart Marketplace withdrawals to India fail or get held?

  • Payout on hold: Sellers incorporated outside the US face a rolling payment delay of up to 21 days until 90 days have passed since the first shipped order and $7,500 has been paid, per Walmart's new seller payment hold policy. Keep shipping and delivery confirmations current, and wait for the next settlement cycle.
  • Name mismatch: Walmart says the legal business name and tax ID in Seller Center must exactly match the bank account name and tax ID held by the payout provider, per its payout processing guide. Correct the record that differs, then raise a Seller Center Help case if payouts stay stuck.
  • No payout method: You must set up a payout method within 30 days of business verification, or you must re-register and restart onboarding, per Walmart's payout processing guide. Choose Payoneer or PingPong on the Payment Info page as soon as verification is complete.
  • Payment freeze: Walmart may freeze or reserve payments for compliance, performance, unusual transactions or legal issues such as a temporary restraining order, per its payment activities guide. Funds stay held until the review ends. Contact Support through the Help button in Seller Center to ask what is needed.
  • Account closed: After an account is closed, Walmart pays the final balance only once returns, chargebacks and investigations are resolved, in most cases around 180 days after closure, per its final settlement payout policy. Keep your payout provider account open until that payment arrives.

Frequently asked questions

Can Walmart Marketplace pay Indian sellers directly into an Indian bank account?

No. Walmart says ACH direct deposit to a bank account is not available as a payout option, per its payout processing guide. Sellers incorporated in India receive payouts through an approved provider, Payoneer or PingPong. The provider then sends the money to your Indian bank account in rupees.

Can an Indian sole proprietor sell on Walmart Marketplace?

Yes. Walmart excludes sole proprietorships from the U.S. Marketplace except those from India, per its seller requirements guide. Indian sole proprietors need a GSTIN certificate and proof of address, and Walmart's list also includes an MSME certificate and a Shop and Establishment License. They use Form W-8BEN for the tax classification. Hindu Undivided Families cannot register.

Do Indian Walmart Marketplace sellers need a US tax ID or EIN?

No. Walmart's Sell from India page says Indian sellers can register with Indian documents and no US tax ID. During business verification, select no when asked about a US tax ID. You then upload proof of business documents, such as your GSTIN registration certificate.

Can Indian sellers use the Walmart Marketplace Wallet or PayPal for payouts?

No. Walmart's payout processing guide lists the Marketplace Wallet and PayPal as available only in the United States. The Wallet links only to a US business bank account. Sellers incorporated in India can choose Payoneer or PingPong, and only one provider can be linked at a time.

How often does Walmart Marketplace send payouts to Payoneer or PingPong?

Walmart pays out generally every 14 days, per its payout processing guide. Settlement cycles run on alternate Fridays at midnight Pacific time, per its payment activities guide. Orders are usually paid in the cycle after they ship or are delivered, about 28 days later. Your cycle shows on the Statements page in Seller Center.

Why does Payoneer charge a $1.50 fee on Walmart Marketplace withdrawals?

Walmart says you may pay a $1.50 withdrawal fee if you signed up for Payoneer directly instead of through the link in Seller Center, per its payout setup guide. The fee comes from Payoneer's policies, not Walmart's. Walmart suggests contacting Payoneer to learn how to avoid it or get a refund.

Do Indian Walmart Marketplace sellers need a US warehouse or WFS?

Walmart requires a US address for returns, per its Sell from India page. Its seller requirements guide accepts a B2C US warehouse with returns capability or Walmart Fulfillment Services. Walmart says it is not the importer of record, so Indian sellers pay US duties and import taxes on goods they ship into the US.

How long is the new seller payment hold on Walmart Marketplace for Indian sellers?

Sellers incorporated outside the US face a rolling delay of up to 21 days, per Walmart's new seller payment hold policy. The hold ends once 90 days have passed since your first shipped or delivered order and you have received $7,500 in payments. Payments can start as soon as 30 days after the first sale.
