Short answer
YouTube pays Indian creators through AdSense for YouTube by international wire transfer to an Indian bank account. Check, EFT and PayPal Hyperwallet are not offered for India, and Google sends one payment a month once your balance reaches the threshold. The marketplace does not publish full fees for its withdrawal methods, so no payout is calculated.
| Method | Fee | Time | FIRA |
|---|---|---|---|
| AdSense for YouTube wire transfer to an Indian bank account | Google does not charge you a fee to receive a wire, per the AdSense wire transfer FAQ. Your Indian bank, and any intermediary bank, may deduct charges, and Google says it does not apply commission to finalized earnings. | Earnings are finalized between the 7th and 12th of the following month and the payment is issued between the 21st and 26th, per YouTube payment timelines. Allow up to 15 business days for the wire to arrive. | Google provides a Payment Receipt for each payment and, on request after 15 business days, a SWIFT copy, UTR or MT103 to trace a wire. Ask your Indian bank for its inward remittance certificate or advice for each credit. |

How does each YouTube AdSense withdrawal method work?
How does AdSense for YouTube wire transfer to an Indian bank account work for YouTube AdSense payouts?
Once your balance reaches the $10 payment method selection threshold in YouTube revenue thresholds, you add a wire transfer method in AdSense for YouTube with the account holder name, bank name, IFSC, SWIFT BIC and account number, per Google wire transfer help. Google then wires each monthly payment to that account.
- Pros: Google charges no fee to send the wire; Payments run automatically each month once holds are cleared and the threshold is met; No test deposit is needed to verify the bank account for wire transfers; Google offers a Payment Receipt and can supply a SWIFT copy or UTR for tracing
- Cons: Your bank sets the exchange rate and any inward remittance charges; Wires can take up to 15 business days to arrive; Google cannot pay outside the monthly cycle, and a wire cannot be canceled once sent to your bank; A wrong IFSC, SWIFT code or account number can delay payment by about 15 business days or more
- Cost: Google does not charge you a fee to receive a wire, per the AdSense wire transfer FAQ. Your Indian bank, and any intermediary bank, may deduct charges, and Google says it does not apply commission to finalized earnings.
- Time: Earnings are finalized between the 7th and 12th of the following month and the payment is issued between the 21st and 26th, per YouTube payment timelines. Allow up to 15 business days for the wire to arrive.
- FIRA: Google provides a Payment Receipt for each payment and, on request after 15 business days, a SWIFT copy, UTR or MT103 to trace a wire. Ask your Indian bank for its inward remittance certificate or advice for each credit.
- Ideal for: Indian creators who want monthly YouTube earnings credited straight to a bank account in their own name.
How do you set up YouTube AdSense withdrawals to India?
- Meet the YouTube Partner Program requirements, such as 1,000 subscribers with 4,000 qualified watch hours in 12 months, or 1,000 subscribers with 10 million qualified Shorts views in 90 days, and turn on 2-Step Verification.
- In YouTube Studio, go to Earn, apply, accept the base terms, and set up or link one AdSense for YouTube account in your payee name.
- Submit US tax info in AdSense for YouTube under Payments, Payments info, Manage settings, United States tax info. Most Indian individuals complete Form W-8BEN with their PAN as the foreign TIN.
- Claim the India and US tax treaty benefit for Other Copyright Royalties in the tax tool if a tax adviser confirms you qualify, and submit before 10 December each year.
- Verify your identity when asked, then enter the 6-digit PIN that Google mails to your payment address once earnings reach $10.
- When your balance reaches the payment method selection threshold, add a wire transfer method with your account holder name, bank name, IFSC, SWIFT BIC and account number exactly as your bank records them.
- Ask your bank whether it needs intermediary bank details for US dollar wires and add them, since missing intermediary details can cause the payment to fail.
- Clear all payment holds by the 20th of the month so that a balance at or above the payment threshold is paid between the 21st and 26th.
How much INR do you receive on $2,000, $5,000 and $10,000 from YouTube AdSense?
YouTube AdSense does not publish full fees for its withdrawal methods, so INR amounts are not calculated. The methods table above lists every fee it does publish.
What fees does YouTube AdSense charge before you withdraw?
YouTube keeps a revenue share before earnings reach AdSense for YouTube. Per YouTube partner earnings overview, creators receive 55 percent of net watch page ad revenue, 45 percent of allocated Shorts Feed ad revenue, and 70 percent of net fan funding revenue. For example, $1,000 of net watch page ad revenue pays the creator $550.
What tax forms and TDS apply to YouTube AdSense earnings?
Every monetizing YouTube creator must submit US tax info, wherever they live. Google withholds US tax only on earnings from US viewers when valid info is on file, per YouTube US tax requirements. Google's example gives an Indian creator a 15 percent treaty rate. Without tax info, Google may deduct up to 24 percent of an individual's worldwide earnings.
- W-8BEN: Individuals outside the US generally give Form W-8BEN, and entities give W-8BEN-E, through the AdSense for YouTube tax tool, per Submitting your US tax info to Google. Google lists the PAN as the Indian foreign TIN for a treaty claim. Forms expire at the end of the third full calendar year after signing. The IRS describes who gives Form W-8BEN. See W-8BEN for Indian freelancers.
- US withholding: In Google's own example in YouTube US tax requirements, an Indian creator earning $1,000 with $100 from US viewers loses $15 with a treaty claim, $30 without one, and up to $240 with no tax info. Google issues Form 1042-S by 14 April for the previous year's withholding.
- TDS: Google's AdSense for YouTube help pages describe US withholding and do not describe Indian TDS on YouTube payouts. Google notes that local tax laws may still apply, so Indian income tax rules can cover the earnings. Check with a tax adviser whether any US tax withheld can be credited in your Indian return. See TDS on marketplace payouts.
- GST on YouTube share: YouTube does not bill a separate commission. It pays a revenue share, and YouTube partner earnings overview says transaction taxes such as GST are not revenue to Google and are left out of the revenue share calculation. Your own GST position depends on whether you are registered and how your supply is classified.
- GST on exports: A service supplied to a recipient outside India is an export when the five conditions in IGST Act section 2(6) are met, and exports are zero-rated under section 16. A registered supplier can export without paying IGST under an LUT in Form GST RFD-11 under CGST Rule 96A. See GST on export of services.
- Income tax: The Income-tax Act, 2025 replaced the 1961 Act from 1 April 2026, and the presumptive schemes in old sections 44AD and 44ADA are now consolidated in section 58. Whether either scheme fits YouTube income depends on how the income is classified. See section 44ADA for freelancers.
Do YouTube AdSense payouts give you FIRA, and what purpose code applies?
- FIRA: Google's help pages do not mention a FIRA or FIRC. Google offers a Payment Receipt for each payment, per AdSense Payments FAQs, and your Indian bank issues the inward remittance advice or certificate. FIRA is a term used by banks and platforms and is not defined in the FEMA Export and Import Regulations, 2026. See FIRC vs FIRA vs e-BRC.
- Purpose code: Google does not publish a purpose code for YouTube payouts, so your AD bank records one when it credits the wire. The RBI purpose code list describes P1007 as "Advertising, trade fair service" and P1099 as "Other services not included elsewhere". Ask your bank which code it applies. See purpose code for YouTube income.
- Nature of payment: If your bank asks for a document showing the nature of the payment, Google says to give it a copy of the AdSense Terms and Conditions, where Part 5 covers payments, per the AdSense wire transfer FAQ. Google does not provide printed, signed or stamped documents.
- EDF and realisation: Under Regulation 3 of the FEMA Export and Import Regulations, 2026, services exporters file an EDF within 30 days from the end of the invoice month from 1 October 2026, and A.P. (DIR Series) Circular No. 20 supersedes the earlier SOFTEX circulars from that date. Regulation 5, as amended on 22 September 2026, sets nine months for realisation. Ask your AD bank how it applies to YouTube payouts. See EDF form for exports.
Why do YouTube AdSense withdrawals to India fail or get held?
- Payment on hold: Holds arise when tax info is missing, identity or the address PIN is not verified, no form of payment is set up, or a self-hold or compliance hold is on the account, per YouTube payment hold help. Open the alert on the Payments page and complete the step it names before the 20th.
- Name mismatch: Google lists bank details that do not exactly match your bank account among the most common reasons a wire fails, per the AdSense wire transfer FAQ. Enter the account holder name and details exactly as your bank records them, in Latin characters, with no hyphens in the account number.
- Missing intermediary: A payment can be rejected if your bank needs intermediary bank details and none are given, and wrong intermediary details can delay a wire by as long as three months, per the AdSense wire transfer FAQ. For US dollar payments the intermediary bank must be in the United States.
- Returned transfer: If a wire fails because of wrong details, ask your bank to cancel the payment. Google says it then recalls the funds and reissues the payment in about 15 business days, per the AdSense wire transfer FAQ. Add the corrected bank account before the 20th.
- Not received: If 15 business days have passed since the payment was issued, Google's wire transfer FAQ says to contact your bank and then use Google's form to request a SWIFT copy or UTR. Your bank uses that reference to locate the credit.

Frequently asked questions
Can a YouTube creator in India receive AdSense for YouTube earnings by EFT or check?
No. Google's payment method table lists wire transfer as the only form of payment for India for AdSense for YouTube. Can Indian YouTube creators withdraw AdSense for YouTube earnings to PayPal or Payoneer?
No direct option exists. Google's payment method table shows PayPal Hyperwallet as unavailable for India, and Google does not list Payoneer as a form of payment. Google also requires the bank to be in the same country as your payment address, per AdSense Payments FAQs, so the wire must go to a bank account in India.
When does YouTube send AdSense for YouTube payments to Indian bank accounts each month?
Finalized YouTube earnings post to AdSense for YouTube between the 7th and 12th of the next month. If your balance meets the threshold and holds are cleared by the 20th, Google issues payment between the 21st and 26th, per YouTube payment timelines. A wire to India can then take up to 15 business days.
What is the AdSense for YouTube payment threshold for creators in India?
The payment threshold is $100 for accounts with a US dollar reporting currency, per YouTube revenue thresholds. Address verification starts at $10, and the payment method selection threshold is also $10. Google withholds only on earnings from US viewers when valid tax info is on file. Its US tax example for an Indian creator shows 15 percent with a treaty claim and 30 percent without one. If no tax info is submitted, Google may withhold up to 24 percent of an individual's total worldwide earnings.
Does Google issue a FIRC for AdSense for YouTube payments to India?
Google's help pages do not mention a FIRC or FIRA. Google offers a Payment Receipt for each payment, per AdSense Payments FAQs, and can provide a SWIFT copy or UTR for tracing. Your Indian bank, which receives the wire, is the one to ask for an inward remittance certificate or advice.
Does Google charge a fee or set the exchange rate on YouTube wire transfers to India?
Google says it charges no fee to receive a wire and applies no commission to finalized earnings, per its wire transfer FAQ. Payouts are issued in US dollars or euros depending on the country. Your bank decides the rupee exchange rate and may deduct its own charges, so compare banks before adding details.
Can an Indian YouTube creator receive AdSense for YouTube payments in someone else's bank account?
