How does each Twitch withdrawal method work?
How does Wire transfer in USD to an Indian bank account work for Twitch payouts?
In Affiliate or Partner Settings you select Change Payout Method, confirm your password with two-factor authentication on, and enter your bank's wire details, per the Payout Details FAQ. Twitch's processor then sends USD to your bank each month.
- Pros: Money lands directly in your Indian bank account, which records the inward remittance; Twitch lists one of the shorter processing times, 1 to 3 days; Partners do not pay Twitch's payout fee, which Twitch covers for them
- Cons: The minimum balance is $100, double the $50 for other methods; The $16 Twitch fee is a fixed cost on each payout, before any bank charges; A rejected wire costs $25 and waits for the next monthly cycle
- Cost: Twitch lists a $16.00 bank wire fee for creators not based in the US, per the Payout Details FAQ. Twitch says your own bank usually charges an extra fee, and a wire that is returned costs $25.00.
- Time: 1 to 3 days from the submitted date, per When Am I Getting Paid?. Twitch submits payouts on or around the 15th of the month after you earn the revenue.
- FIRA: Twitch does not mention a FIRA or FIRC. Your Indian bank receives the SWIFT wire directly, so ask it for the inward remittance advice or certificate for each payout.
- Ideal for: Indian creators who earn steadily above $100 a month and prefer bank records over a wallet.
How does eCheck or local bank payout converted to INR work for Twitch payouts?
Twitch describes the local bank payout or eCheck as a method for non-US and non-Eurozone Affiliates that converts the payout from USD to your local currency for a fee, per the Payout Details FAQ. You choose it at the payout method step of onboarding if it is offered for your region.
- Pros: Lower $50 minimum balance; Lower fixed fee than a wire; Twitch converts the payout to local currency before sending it, where this method is offered for India
- Cons: Twitch adds a currency exchange fee of up to 2.5 percent on top of the fixed fee; Twitch says banks may set a maximum amount for this method, which can disrupt large payouts; Twitch says available methods vary by region, so it may not appear for every Indian account
- Cost: Twitch lists a $3.75 eCheck fee for creators not based in the US, plus a currency exchange fee of up to 2.5 percent when the payout is converted from USD to local currency, per the Payout Details FAQ.
- Time: 1 to 4 days from the submitted date, per When Am I Getting Paid?.
- FIRA: Twitch does not say whether this payout arrives as a cross-border remittance your bank can certify. Ask your bank how the credit is recorded and what document it can issue.
- Ideal for: Indian Affiliates with balances between $50 and a few hundred dollars who want rupees without a SWIFT wire.
How does PayPal work for Twitch payouts?
You choose PayPal at the payout method step and enter the email linked to your PayPal account. Twitch says your country, real name and PayPal email must match what PayPal holds, per the Affiliate Program FAQ.
- Pros: Lower $50 minimum balance; 1 to 2 days, the shortest processing time Twitch lists for methods open to India; No zip code needed, which Twitch suggests if onboarding stalls on that field
- Cons: Funds pass through PayPal before reaching your bank; A wrong email means PayPal holds the funds for 30 days and then returns them to Twitch; PayPal receiving limits can cause a rejected payout
- Cost: For creators not based in the US, Twitch lists the PayPal payout fee as "2.0% of transaction up to $20.00 + $0.25 USD", per the Payout Details FAQ. PayPal's own charges for converting and withdrawing to an Indian bank are separate.
- Time: 1 to 2 days from the submitted date to reach PayPal, per When Am I Getting Paid?. Withdrawal from PayPal to your bank takes extra time.
- FIRA: Twitch does not mention a FIRA or FIRC. Ask PayPal and your bank which inward remittance record they provide for each withdrawal.
- Ideal for: Creators with a PayPal account already linked to an Indian bank who want smaller, faster payouts.
How does Paper check work for Twitch payouts?
You choose Check at the payout method step, and Twitch mails it to the address from your onboarding details. Twitch says a check usually takes the longest to arrive, per the Payout Details FAQ.
- Pros: Lower $50 minimum balance; Low fixed Twitch fee
- Cons: Slowest method listed by Twitch; Foreign checks take time to clear and banks may charge collection fees; Postal delays or a wrong address can hold up the money
- Cost: Twitch lists a $3.00 paper check fee for creators not based in the US, and $25.00 to stop a check for a rejected payment, per the Payout Details FAQ.
- Time: 1 to 2 weeks from the submitted date, per When Am I Getting Paid?, plus your bank's clearing time for a foreign check.
- FIRA: Twitch does not mention a FIRA or FIRC. Ask your bank what record it issues when it collects a foreign currency check.
- Ideal for: A fallback for creators whose electronic payout keeps failing.
How do you set up Twitch withdrawals to India?
- Reach Affiliate status by getting 25 followers, streaming 4 hours on 4 different days and averaging 3 viewers, per the Affiliate Program FAQ. Only Affiliates and Partners can be paid out.
- Accept the Affiliate invitation from your Creator Dashboard under Monetization, then turn on two-factor authentication, which Twitch requires for monetization.
- Fill in Account Detail with your legal full name, country of residence (India) and date of birth exactly as on your tax documents, and agree to the Monetized Streamer Agreement.
- Complete the Royalty Tax Interview and the Service Tax Interview through Amazon Tax Central. As a non-US individual you certify your status on Form W-8. Twitch asks for a foreign tax ID issued by your local tax authority only if you claim a reduced treaty rate.
- Wait for the tax interviews to validate. Twitch says this typically takes 24 to 48 hours, sometimes up to 72 hours.
- Select a payout method from the options Twitch shows for your account, since Twitch says available methods vary by region, and enter details in English characters only.
- Upload a government ID such as a passport if asked, and complete any identity check through Persona before your first payout.
- Make any later changes before the 8th of the month, and track the payout around the 15th in your Payout History dashboard.
How much INR do you receive on $2,000, $5,000 and $10,000 from Twitch?

| Method and earnings | After commission | INR received | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| eCheck or local bank payout converted to INR, $2,000 | $1,000 | ₹91,908 | Creators with smaller monthly balances who want rupees in their bank account, where Twitch shows this option for India. |

What fees does Twitch charge before you withdraw?
Twitch keeps half of subscription revenue under the standard 50/50 split, per Earnings Analytics. Taxes, payment processing and conversion fees come off the price before the split. The Affiliate Program FAQ lists Plus Program rates of 60/40 and 70/30. For example, $100 of net subscription revenue gives you $50, before US tax withholding.
What tax forms and TDS apply to Twitch earnings?
Twitch requires every non-US creator to complete its tax interviews and certify non-US status on IRS Form W-8, per the Twitch tax FAQ. The US can require Twitch to withhold up to 30 percent from certain payments. A reduced treaty rate needs a tax ID, and the validation screen shows your rate.
- W-8BEN: Twitch runs a Royalty Tax Interview and a Service Tax Interview through Amazon Tax Central, per the Affiliate Onboarding Guide. Non-US payees certify their status on Form W-8 or Form 8233, and Twitch says a foreign tax ID issued by your local tax authority is needed only to claim a reduced rate, per the Twitch tax FAQ. The IRS says a foreign person who is the beneficial owner of an amount subject to withholding gives Form W-8BEN to the payer. See W-8BEN for Indian freelancers.
- US withholding: Twitch says US rules require it to collect up to 30 percent from certain payments to non-US persons, and that missing or expired tax information can trigger default withholding of up to 30 percent, per the Twitch tax FAQ. Twitch makes Form 1042-S available on or before 15 March of the following year through Tax Central.
- TDS: Twitch's help pages describe US withholding and do not describe any Indian TDS on Twitch payouts. Indian residents generally report this income in their Indian return. Ask a tax adviser whether US tax withheld can be credited there. See TDS on marketplace payouts.
- GST on Twitch share: Twitch keeps its share of subscription revenue after deductions, per Earnings Analytics, and its help pages do not describe GST on that share. Your own GST position depends on whether you are registered and how your supply to Twitch is classified, so check this with a GST adviser.
- GST on exports: A service supplied to a recipient outside India is an export when the five conditions in IGST Act section 2(6) are met, and exports are zero-rated under section 16. A registered supplier can export without paying IGST under an LUT in Form GST RFD-11 under CGST Rule 96A. See GST on export of services.
- Income tax: The Income-tax Act, 2025 replaced the 1961 Act from 1 April 2026, and the presumptive schemes in old sections 44AD and 44ADA are now consolidated in section 58. Those old sections applied up to tax year 2025-26. Whether either scheme fits streaming income depends on how the income is classified. See section 44ADA for freelancers.
Do Twitch payouts give you FIRA, and what purpose code applies?
- FIRA: Twitch's help pages do not mention a FIRA or FIRC. For a wire, your Indian bank issues the inward remittance advice or certificate. For PayPal, ask PayPal and your bank. FIRA is a term used by banks and platforms and is not defined in the FEMA Export and Import Regulations, 2026. See FIRC vs FIRA vs e-BRC.
- Purpose code: Twitch does not publish a purpose code for payouts, so your AD bank records one when it credits the remittance. The RBI purpose code list describes P1007 as "Advertising, trade fair service" and P1099 as "Other services not included elsewhere". Ask your bank which code it applies. See purpose code for freelancers.
- Payout records: Your Payout History dashboard shows submitted, paid and rejected payouts with a breakdown of gross revenue, tax withholding and payout fees, per the Payout Balance FAQ. Keep these statements with your bank credits, since they show the nature and amount of each payment.
- EDF and realisation: Under Regulation 3 of the FEMA Export and Import Regulations, 2026, services exporters file an EDF within 30 days from the end of the invoice month from 1 October 2026, and A.P. (DIR Series) Circular No. 20 supersedes the earlier SOFTEX circulars from that date. Regulation 5, as amended on 22 September 2026, sets nine months for realisation. Ask your AD bank how it applies to Twitch payouts. See EDF form for exports.
Why do Twitch withdrawals to India fail or get held?
- Payout on hold: Some creators must verify their identity through Persona with a government ID and a selfie before the first payout, and the payout shows as on hold until then, per the Rejected Payout FAQ. A Hold Payments status you set yourself also stops payouts until you release it, per the Payout Details FAQ.
- Name mismatch: Twitch says mismatches between your account details, tax interviews and payout method are the most common onboarding problem, per the Affiliate Onboarding Guide. Use your legal name and address exactly as on your tax documents. For PayPal, the country, name and email must match your PayPal account.
- Rejected payout: Incorrect bank details, PayPal receiving limits and a wrong PayPal email are common rejection reasons, per the Rejected Payout FAQ. Twitch retries only in the next monthly cycle, so correct the details by the 25th to be paid the following month. The Payout Details FAQ lists a $25 wire return fee.
- Below minimum: Twitch rolls your balance into the next month until it passes $50, or $100 for wire transfer, per the Payout Balance FAQ. Switch from wire to a $50 method if your balance stays between the two thresholds.
- Lower than expected: Expired or invalid tax information can trigger withholding of up to 30 percent, per the Twitch tax FAQ. Retake the tax interview from the Monetization section and check your rate in the withholding widget and Earnings Analytics.

Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum Twitch payout for creators in India?
Twitch pays out once your balance passes $50 for ACH, eCheck or local bank, PayPal and check, or $100 for wire transfer, per When Am I Getting Paid?. If your balance is lower, Twitch rolls it into the next month. Indian creators using a wire therefore wait for a $100 balance.
When does Twitch send the monthly payout to Indian streamers?
Twitch uses a Net-15 schedule and submits payouts on or around the 15th of the following month, per the Affiliate Program FAQ. For example, revenue earned in April is paid from 15 May. Wire transfers then take 1 to 3 days and PayPal 1 to 2 days to arrive.
Does Twitch pay Indian creators in rupees or US dollars?
Twitch pays in US dollars because it is based in the United States, per the Payout Balance FAQ. With eCheck or local bank payouts, Twitch converts to local currency for a fee of up to 2.5 percent. With a wire or PayPal, your bank or PayPal converts the dollars to rupees.
Can a Twitch streamer in India get paid before becoming an Affiliate?
No. Only Twitch Affiliates and Partners can receive a payout, per When Am I Getting Paid?. Streamers who finish monetization onboarding can use their balance as Spendable Balance on Twitch purchases. Twitch says the balance can be paid out once you reach Affiliate status and the threshold, per About Monetization on Twitch.
How much US tax does Twitch withhold from Indian creators?
Twitch says US rules can require it to withhold up to 30 percent from certain payments to non-US persons, per the Twitch tax FAQ. A reduced treaty rate needs a foreign tax ID such as a PAN in the tax interview. Twitch shows your applicable rate after the interview is validated.
Do Twitch Partners in India pay payout fees?
Twitch's feature table lists payout fees as covered by Twitch for Partners, per About Monetization on Twitch. Affiliates outside the US pay $16 for a wire, $3.75 for eCheck and $3 for a check. The currency exchange fee of up to 2.5 percent applies to Partners too, per the Payout Details FAQ.
What is the Twitch subscription revenue split for Indian streamers?
The standard Twitch subscription split is 50/50 after taxes, processing and conversion fees, per Earnings Analytics. Affiliates with 100 Plus points for three consecutive months qualify for 60/40, and 300 points for 70/30, per the Affiliate Program FAQ. Local Subscription Pricing lowers revenue from cheaper regions.
What is the Twitch deadline for changing payout details each month?
Changes made after the 8th of the month are not reflected in that month's payout, per the Payout Details FAQ. Twitch also says payout method changes take effect at least seven days after submission. Changing your payout method makes you unpayable until the process is complete, so update early in the month.
